UPCOMING EVENTS AT DOUBLE 8 ALPACA RANCH
Mother- Daughter Needle Felting Class
Mother- Daughter Needle Felting Class

Sunday, February 10th from 2PM - 4PM

Wool fiber is surrounded by flat, overlapping scales. When processed, the fibers are mixed in their orientation and the scale edges may point in opposite directions. Therefore, the orientation of the fiber and subsequently the direction of the scale edges are random. When wool is subjected to agitation such as felting – the edges on the scales come in contact with each other, and do not allow the wool fiber to slide back, “locking” the fiber into position. It is not just one or two fibers that are locking together, but literally hundreds of fibers that come in contact with each other and lock into this position – causing the wool to felt.

Come learn how to needle felt with us and make a heart and/or alpaca ornament.  The cost for this class is $35 per person and includes all of your materials.

Crochet a Washcloth Class
Crochet a Washcloth Class

Sunday, March 10th, 2PM - 4PM

Come learn how to crochet a washcloth and select a locally made soap scented with essential oils or an unscented soap made by The Parsonage Company.  After making your washcloth and soap gift set, visit with our fuzzy and friendly alpacas.  Once you've mastered making washcloths, you will be well on your way to making beautiful scarves.

My grandmother was an avid crocheter.  I just loved watching her create beautiful blankets, scarves, and Christmas ornaments.  I just know she is smiling down on me from the Heavens above knowing that I'm continuing her craft.  The word "crochet" means small hook in French. Crocheting is a technique of interlocking loops of yarn or thread to make fabric.

Cost: $35 per person, Includes all materials (organic yarn, a hook to use, and a soap to take with your washcloth).
