Every 30 days, Alpaca need to be treated for meningeal prevention.  The meningeal parasite is carried by the white tailed deer in the North East and the alpaca is the dead-end host to it.  It can cause paralysis and death to the alpaca if the alpaca is not given the preventative (Ivermectin injection 1cc/70 or 1cc/50 lbs BW) once every 30-40 days.
